Dr. Nursel Kahya, BCBA-D, (Dr. K) founder of ABA Psychologist & Associates, is a New York State licensed psychologist and a Doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA-D). Dr. K has been serving children with ASD and their families for more than twenty years.
She received her Ph.D. in Learning Processes & Behavior Analysis, Graduate School and University Center, City University of New York (CUNY) (Association for Behavior Analysis International accredited program. While obtaining her doctoral degree, she received invaluable guidance from Donald Baer, a pioneer in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Dr. Kahya began working with children with ASD at Nassau Suffolk Services for the Autistic, a dissemination site of the renowned Princeton Child Development Institute (PCDI). There she gained vast experience implementing behavioral programs, skill acquisition, and staff training.
After earning her Ph.D., she founded her private practice serving children with ASD and ADHD in the NY metropolitan area.
In addition to her comprehensive ABA practice, she lectures and provides training to ABA therapists and parent groups. Dr. Kahya has presented at conferences in the United States and Norway. She also testifies and serves as an expert witness for special needs attorneys in the lower Hudson Valley.
